The holidays are coming along with the Texans to Thunder Canyon, Montana. What better time of year to see characters we’ve come to know and love find their happy ending?

Austin Anderson first appeared in my book TAMING THE MONTANA MILLIONAIRE in Thunder Canyon Cowboys. He was one of those secondary characters who can take over the story if the writer doesn’t keep him under control. Clearly he needed a book of his own and redheaded Rose Traub is a worthy heroine for the bad boy turned hero.

The themes of peace, joy and forgiveness are hallmarks of the holiday season and an every day part of life in this tight-knit town. I love spending time at The Tottering Teapot, City Hall and ROOTS. Hope you do, too.

Wishing everyone health, happiness and love this holiday season.

Best,

Dear Reader,

Does anyone else feel as if this last winter was longer, colder, and wetter than usual? On the upside, the wetter part means help for the drought here in Las Vegas. Also on the upside I was able to take two cruises to warm places—Hawaii in December and Mexico in April. My souvenir is an extra five pounds that settled in and doesn’t want to leave. But summer is here and that’s a good thing.

I’m very excited to have two books coming out during “beach read” season. The first is an anthology with Kasey Michaels called A SUMMER REUNION. TO HAVE THE DOCTOR’S BABY is Book Two in the current Men of Mercy Medical Series. Both books are July releases and should be on the shelf any day now. I hope you’ll look for them.

In two weeks I’ll be leaving for New York and the Romance Writers of America conference. I’m looking forward to that and afterwards will be staying on to spend the 4th of July with family in New Jersey. Should be a blast, no pun intended.

Whatever you do this summer, I hope it’s fabulous, fun and relaxing. Wishing you lots of wonderful reading.

All the Best,

Dear Reader,

Happy New Year! 2011 is still bright and shiny, like a brand new romance!

I love fairy tales and have since I was a little girl. Sleeping Beauty. Cinderella. Beauty and the Beast. It wasn’t clear then, but reading those classics was the foundation for my career as a romance writer now.

I had so much fun tweaking the fairy tale elements in CINDY’S DOCTOR CHARMING. The “ball” where she first talks to her hero the doctor is the beginning of the story, not the end. And, as every woman knows, the perfect fit of a shoe is worth its weight in happily-ever-afters. But for Cindy and Nathan, it’s the broken heel on her borrowed pumps that allows fate to catch up and bring these two lonely people together in a way neither of them expects.

I hope you enjoy reading their story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

All the Best,

Dear Reader,

I returned to Las Vegas not long ago from a cruise to Alaska. It’s one hundred and eight degrees here and no matter what they say about a dry heat, hot is still hot! I’m ready to go back to the land of the glaciers.

The trip was fabulous. Cold, rainy, and windy in Skagway, but the stop in Ketchikan happened between storms and the weather was beautiful. Our last stop was in Victoria, which is so completely charming. During a tour of the city, we drove through the campus of the University of Victoria and there were bunnies everywhere! Seriously.

It rained in Seattle (big surprise) the day before we came home and how I wish for some now, along with a drop in temperature. I’ve subtracted all the clothes possible this side of decency and comfort isn’t happening until sometime in the Fall.

Until then, I’m hunkered down inside with the air conditioner set on glacier. When not writing, I’m working my way through a sizable stack of books. If you’re doing the same, I hope you’ll check out the first book in my next Men of Mercy Medical series. THE SURGEON’S FAVORITE NURSE should be on the shelves in the next couple of days.

Stay cool!

Dear Reader,

It feels as if the holidays were just last week, yet summer is right around the corner. I don’t know about you, but to me that says, “Beach Read.” Is there anything better than an ocean view, a lounge chair and a book? Possibly the addition of an umbrella drink might enhance the experience.

I’m very excited to have three books coming out during “beach read” season. The first is in July, a two-in-one with Susan Mallery. She’s a good friend and fabulous writer. I had fun with the dedication to her in this book.

In August, look for TAMING THE MONTANA MILLIONAIRE, my very first time in the recurring Montana Mavericks continuity series. And September brings THE SURGEON’S FAVORITE NURSE, the first in the next trilogy for my ongoing Men of Mercy Medical books. Then we’ll be just about to anticipate the holiday season again.

But before that, the unstable spring weather will give way to the hazy, lazy, crazy days of summer. When you’re sitting out by the pool, lake or ocean, enjoy books. I’m leaving for a cruise to the Mexican Riviera soon and my to-be-read stack is ready to go. My clothes? Not so much. But I’ll get there.

Adios and all the Best,
